Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 20, 2026

1. Who we are

ExtraordinaryTrials.com (the "Platform," "we," "us") is operated by Mark Davis d/b/a ExtraordinaryTrials.com. This policy describes what information we collect through the Platform, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions any time: extraordinarytrials@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

We collect only what you choose to give us:

  • Pledges: your name, email, pledge amount, and support level. Your card details go directly to our payment processor, Stripe, and never touch our servers; we can see only card metadata Stripe provides (such as the last four digits).
  • Claim submissions: the professional and clinical information clinicians submit, plus the claim review fee payment (processed by Stripe).
  • Enrollment interest: if you tell us you're interested in enrolling in a trial, we collect your contact details, basic demographics, your diagnosis in your own words, whether you've seen a naturopathic doctor, and whether you're open to appearing in media. This is health-related information: please share only what you're comfortable sharing, and know that appearing in media is never required to participate in any trial.
  • Contact form and mailing list: your name, email, and message.
  • Technical basics: our hosting provider (Netlify) keeps standard server logs. We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not use analytics cookies.

3. How we use it

To operate campaigns and trials: processing pledges and fees, contacting you about pledges you've made or trials you've expressed interest in, evaluating claim submissions, sending mailing-list updates you signed up for, and keeping records the law requires. That's it.

4. What we share, and with whom

  • Service providers that make the Platform work: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), and Netlify (hosting). Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
  • Research teams: if you express enrollment interest in a trial, we may share the information you submitted with the research team responsible for that trial, so they can contact you.
  • Legal requirements: we will disclose information if validly compelled by law.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

5. Health information

The Platform is not a healthcare provider and is not a HIPAA covered entity; information you submit here is not part of a medical record. Health-related information you share (such as a diagnosis on an enrollment-interest form) is used only to contact you about the trial in question and to share with that trial's research team as described above. If you enroll in an actual trial, the research institution running it will have its own consent process and privacy protections, which are separate from and additional to this policy.

6. How long we keep it

We keep information as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above: pledge and payment records for the life of the campaign plus applicable legal retention periods; enrollment-interest submissions until the relevant trial's recruitment concludes or you ask us to delete them; mailing-list emails until you unsubscribe.

7. Your choices and rights

Email extraordinarytrials@gmail.com at any time to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted (we'll honor deletion except where law requires retention, such as payment records). Depending on where you live, including Washington, California, and Maryland, you may have specific statutory rights over personal and consumer-health data; we will honor valid requests regardless of which statute applies.

8. Children

The Platform is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 18. Some trials concern pediatric conditions; a parent or guardian may submit enrollment interest on a child's behalf, in which case we treat that information with the same care described in this policy.

9. Security

We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards (encrypted connections, access limited to those who need it). No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy; the effective date above reflects the latest revision, and material changes will be noted on this page. Contact: extraordinarytrials@gmail.com.
